Evaluation
ADVANTAGES
Artemis Class ships make up the largest contingent of most fleets and are used primarily as fodder to protect bigger and more expensive ships. Hades Class does not have rapid fire on this ship. Therefore the Hades Class will lose a turn when it fires on the Artemis Class leaving all other ships safe for another round of battle.
DISADVANTAGES
The Poseidon Class has Rapid Fire versus the Artemis Class and thus can easily eliminate them. Furthermore the weapons system of the Artemis Class has little or no effect against the highest level ships and defense.

Other Information
Cheap, efficient, fast to build, and when used as fodder they can actually fire back, and might pick off some small ships or satellites, giving your capitols the chance to shoot at the higher priority targets.
An alternate version of the Artemis can be seen in the picture for the Raid A Crystal Mine mission, the facsimile of a Cylon Raider can be drawn from it.
The design of the Artemis class and the Hieroglyphs on the right side of the hull may be based on the Death Gliders from the original Stargate movie.
