Newbie Protection in Starfleet prevents newer empires from being destroyed. The rules are as follows:
- 1. Players under 100 build points cannot attack or be attacked by other players.
- 2. Players under 5,000 build points cannot attack or be attacked by other players who have more than 5 times their number of build points.
- 3. Players over 5,000 build points can attack or be attacked by anybody unless they are in Diplomacy Mode or Vacation Mode.
By the time a player hits 5,000 build points, they are expected to have learned how to fleet save and resource save.
