Talk:Prometheus Class Destroyer
This graphic is disappointing, the biggest ship in the fleet should look at least as good as the others.
Is it just me?
- I was amused that there are particle cannons and Apollo fighters on the deck, but would expect the fighters to be a lot smaller compared to it. Oh well.

I was wondering if any other users who look at the discussion page find the description of the Prometheus Class as a "Destroyer" ridiculously odd. Odd in that in most modern Navies and in most science fiction novels a Destroyer abbreviated DD is a small lighter Unit, smaller in fact than Cruisers though admittedly larger than Frigates. My complaint here is that unless the creators were basing their naming scale entirely and unabashedly on Star Wars and the "Star Destroyer" as their model, then It would make more sense to rate the ship that is larger and more powerful than the Battleships (BB) as a Dreadnought (DN).
Thoughts Anyone?
- While I too, am baffled by the classification of the Prometheus class as a destroyer, I'm happy to think of it as analogous to the Space Battleship Yamato, from the anime series of the same name. All it needs is a wave-motion cannon (which will hopefully be included in the next update :D )
- Oh My Gosh! Get a Grip. The makers of the game have built everything the way they want it and that is good enough for every normal person, It is just a GAME!
- The naming of various types of ships has varied over time, and is in no way consistent. At one time, "Cruiser" was an incredibly broad category wihich included everything that was not a "Battleship"... and the largest "Cruisers" were "Frigates". No reason the creators of this game would have to stick to a particular scheme... Silver Gate Squadron 03:29, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- Just want to point out that Babylon 5 also uses destroyers as there leargest ships. --Phil Sutherland 13:09, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I agree that the graphic needs work but I have no problem with the ship being called a destroyer.
