Warp gates can only be built on Moons. If you have more than one moon and a Warp Gate on each you can transport your entire fleet, but no resources, instantly from one to the other without using hydrogen. Constructing/owning only a single warp gate has no benefit, since a source and destination warp gate are required to operate.

There is a sixty minute recharge time in between jumps, i.e. you could only send fleets once every sixty minutes. This cool down / recharge time is only needed for the two warp gates that were used.

Upgrading the warp gate does not have any effect (except for your points in statistics). There is no reduction in recharge time or any other benefit gained by upgrading a warp gate beyond level 1.

How To Use
Sample warp gate dialog

Once you have at least two moons with jump gates, select the moon that has the ships you wish to send and display the Buildings view. Click on the warp gate image to display the in-game description of warp gates, followed by the warp gate control panel. Use the drop-down control to select a destination moon, enter a number next to each ship type stationed at the moon, and select "Execute Jump!".

But remember you can't take resources with you, so if your fleet is transported make sure you have some hydrogen on your destination.

Base Cost
