The point total to be reached is determined when war is declared. It is established by the Alliance leader declaring the war and is accepted by the Alliance leader that war is declared on. Additionally, at the time war is declared additional settings may be selected including whether inactive alliance members court towards victory points and whether the war is over if a certain percentage of players in the alliance are in diplomacy mode.

During war the plunder limit is increased to 60% per attack and all attacks provide between players at war will yield double destroyed ship points. Victory Points for the war are determined by 1 point per DSP and 1 point per 1,000 resources plundered. The war is over when one side reaches the victory point total.

A War is a formal agreement between alliances. When declared by the leader of one alliance, and accepted by another, war becomes official.

Once war is approved by both alliances bashing rules no longer apply between them.

Players who belong to an alliance in a War with your alliance are highlighted in red on the Galaxy screen.
