Are there rules as to who you can defend?

It is pretty explicit: "You can send forces to help your allies and buddies defend their world. On the Galaxy page look for the chain link icon on the right side of the screen under the Actions Column." i.e. anyone in your alliance, and your buddies. If they have a chain link icon, you can group defend with them. --Rob 15:14, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

I don't see this icon on all my buddies. Do I only see it on those who are under attack?

Same question! I see some of my buddies but not all, why and how do I fix it?

Same Question... I have an alliance member, who is a buddy, 3 planets down. No Defend link. Yet another alliance/buddy does have a defend link.
