how do you rename a colony?

I just started my first colony. There is no ship yard, so I can't build ships, can't do missions, etc. How do I set this up? Thanks!

You have to build each colony just like you built your homeworld. If you want your colony to be able to build ships, then build a shipyard there. Make sure your colony is the actively selected planet by clicking on it at the top of your screen, where all your worlds are listed. Then go to Buildings. Remember that each planet has to individually meet the requirements for building each building or ship. (Except for Technology, which is shared over your entire empire.)
