You gain crew by inviting new users to the game (users who have not played Starfleet Commander in the past). This can be done clicking on the "Crew" tab, just above the "Buildings" tab. When a person accepts your request to join the game, you gain a crew member who functions the same as a droid but better. Crew members give a 4% bonus instead of a 2% bonus when working in mines, a research lab, or building. They also provide 3 crew points rather than the 1 crew point of a Crew Droid.

When someone accepts your invitation you will be sent a message telling you they accepted. Crew members can be assigned to work places in the Workers tab. Even if a crew member is working in a building (ex. an Ore Mine) they will still give you the 3 crew points.

This page also displays your total crew points used for some missions.

You may only select a number of friends depending on the number of gifts you have not used in a day. Optionally you can email the link provided to your friends to join if you have no gifts remaining.
