A planet is is a celestial body orbiting a star. In Starfleet Commander, the Universe is divided into galaxies, solar systems, and planets. Every planet not owned by another player allows a user to form a colony on that planet, allowing the building of mines, buildings, defenses, and all of the other implements of warfare.
A player can have up to 9 planets by establishing colonies.
Players can rename their own planets by going to the Galaxy View for their system and clicking on the rename link. Duplicate names for planets are allowed.
Planetary Fields
When a planet is created from a Gaia Class colony ship it will have a random number of Planetary Fields, based on it's position in the Solar System in which it was created.
- Note
- Planets 4, 5, and 6 tend to yield higher number of fields; while planets 1, 2, and 3 tend to yield the fewest number in any given solar system.
When a homeworld is created, it will always have 163 fields.
