More About Me
I study Electric Engineering full time. My classes "encourage" about 9 hours minimum extra studying at home, so you can see where I have to click in between on SFX.
Otherwise I enjoy playing Magic the Gathering on weekends, and the occasional party. Otherwise when I have true free time I generally look up some movie or something while playing SFX. Hmmm, listing my hobbies would be kinda insane cause so many. I'll say a few though... chess, Magic:TCG, SFX, Swimming, ... Music... it changes almost everyweek, but a few constant favorites are Rammstein, Rush, Disturbed, and David Bowie. I have been working on a computer strategy game, I haven't seen anyone make a game similar to it in ages and I have several upgrades to add to it. It is based on the usual future space ships concept. It could also be changed to be a RPG. I've got notebooks and excel sheets with the random odds of things happening in the game.
My personally type is ENTP (extraversion, intuition, thinking, perception) The ENTP has been described variously as the innovator, the originator, the inventor, the explorer, and the visionary. ENTPs also fall into the general categories of thinkers, rationals, and engineers.
Alliances
Original
- I built my own alliance: Klingon Cardassian Alliance
- I joined Empire until the reformation into ODB
- I was in ODB until quitting original permanently
The Points of the Game
Version 1.0, updated 24.10.2010 (yes format totally stolen from Jesus Saves)
This game is highly interesting.
- Warfare: Some argue that there isnt much warfare, as war is generally detrimental to both sides. Where as in this game you dont attack unless your sure you are going to profit.
- Strategy: It is You vs Everyone, including your alliance for every potential target. Every Inactive, every weak target, every target is being hunted by everyone else as well. And in Extreme you can have tactical combat with other players online by tricking them, by catching the 17 minute gaps right after they launch attacks... or even by simply realizing how many fleets they have out and that they are helpless. Tactics are key.
- Mercantile: You have resources, do you spend them immediately or massively queue mercilessly on the shipyards in bursts? Have you invested in techs? mines? fleet? These things all get answered.
- Intelligence/Espionage: Knowledge is Power. I've found that people who probe everyone do better then people who dont.
- Domination: This can be simply having the shiny #1 beside your name or by my methods... which is render an area so uninhabitable to every other player in the vicinity.
- Interaction: While the interface points with other players could be better, at least you can do it.
- Assistance: I find that you can help others, but that benevolence is highly overrated in this game.
- Managerial: This aspect is more of a curse, because in the end... there is generally no one to blame but yourself when you log in to the remains of your fleet in orbit.
Proposed Ideas
I have mostly tried for Ideas on the Forums, but we all know that Matt isnt looking at them :P
Things I would love to see from BFG, and in the Universes. And some other quirks.
- Ships
- Cargo ships
- Ares class supercargo (warp, 125,000 cargo, hydrogen expensive, slow, weak hull, no shields, weakness to everything)
- Multi-firing Ships
- Hydra Class Light Missile Cruiser (attack 50, fires 12 times)
- Typhon Class Missile Cruiser (attack 100, fires 16 times)
- Echidna Class Hellfire Dreadnought (Attack 125, fires 128 times)
- Erinýe Class (raider type ships, high attack, high fuel, low hull, fast)
- Megaera Class (Attack 350, hull 650, speed 25,000)
- Alecto Class (Attack 450, hull 750, speed 25,000)
- Tisiphone Class (Attack 650, Hull 900, speed 30,000)
- Suicide Bomber, one shot then self destruction
- Icarus Class (Hull 100, Attack 25000, Speed 10,000)
- Bomber Classes
- Krataiis (Rapid fire vs Pulse, Particle, and Gauss)
- Flagships (customizable!)
- Harbringer Class (Excellent vs Ships, downside is high fuel costs)
- Planet Killer Class (A bomber with cargo space, good vs light fodder ships as well, downside is low speed)
- Cargo ships
- Tournament Style Universe
- Running at x8, the game would run for 3 months with the winner getting a bonus on the next round. These universes would be different every time. Defense into debris, extra test ships, double mine output, ship to debris ratio = 60%, etc
- The prize could vary, extra credits, if the difference is a new ship then starting with 1 of these ships, HW gets a permanent 3% boost to mines... etc
- Things that should be added to current universes.
- Wormholes (shifting and permanent ones, I worked out some mechanics with a friend)
- More ship types... gets old seeing fleets of sheer numbers.
