--- Yeah. You don't get NEW resources, but you get to trade ones that you have into the other types. One transaction only, and you can RECEIVE up to the storage capacity of your planet. So for example, if you have a million ore, you can trade it for 400,000 hydrogen OR 600,000 crystal (as long as your planet has enough storage to hold the hydrogen or crystal without going red). I built up one of my major planets with level 6 warehouses, so it can hold up to (and receive in merchant trades) 900,000 of each resource. One thing that has not been mentioned - The Trade Merchant should be your last resort. Trading with other players can be more profitable. Especially since the merchant has fixed (or set) trade amounts while humans will accept any type of trade.

Example:

Player A wants 1,000,000 Ore and is offering 500,000 Crystal. This trade would be better than the trade merchant for Player A.

Player B could get 600,000 Crystal for his 1,000,000 Ore using a trade merchant. Player A needs to add something to the table or Player B will really need Crystal AND not have funds for a Trade Merchant in order for this to be a good choice.

IS IT WORTH THE 5000 CREDITS TO BUY THE MERCHANT? I DON'T REALLY GET WHAT THE POINT OF HIM IS. DOES IT MEAN YOU PAY 5000 CREDITS AND YOU GET LOADS OF RESOURCES?

Answer: The Merchant will come and trade for you as if you trade with another person, so if you have to much of one resource and want to exchange it However, he cannot trade a resource beyond your planet's capacity.

For me it was worth it, that's my experience yours may differ...

Silver Gate Squadron 00:58, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
