Greed.
Decried as a vice, it has been the single most motivating force for mankind. Why did the Roman Empire or Genghis Kahn expand across the globe? Why did Queen Isabella hire Columbus to go west? Why was Eve so easy to convince to try a piece of fruit? Why did Shakespeare write those plays? He did not give the tickets away for free. Da Vinci? He had benefactors and sold statues. Justin Bieber- okay, maybe that is art for art’s sake, but he is the exception.
The modern embodiment of this supposedly deadly sin?- The modern corporation, an entity that exists purely for profit.
Now picture the ultimate corporation- where all the most ruthless, profit driven companies the real and fictional universes have ever known. The Research Development Administration from Avatar meets the South Park Underpants Gnomes (1). It’s Michael Douglas from Wall Street (2) meets Crimson Permanent Assurance (3 and 4).
Open to players devoted to profit, to those who work both independently and as a team to get ahead. Way ahead. It is for those who are not only unsatisfied with the trophy for participation, but after winning, go back and steal the trophy from the losers anyway. You could always sell it on Ebay.
