Goodbody's Traders From Starfleet Commander Jump to: navigation, search

Goodbody's Traders (Traders) is a new alliance formed on the basic rules of the Starfleet Commander game. Traders believes in following the rules first, and then secondly treating players with the respect they deserve. Having said this, we also understand this is not a "peaceful" game. It is very difficult to advance in a "peaceful" way. However, it is possible to advance in an honorable way.

Updated notes by Andrea Tepal, leader of Goodbody's Traders:

The importance of trading during wartime:

1. In history, trading allowed combatants to obtain crucial supplies important to their survival that would not be readily available by other means. In real life, this could be food, consumables, blankets, clothing, armor and even weapons.

2. Traditionally, traders kept their independence and a neutral attitude so as to enable trading with clients who might be at odds with each other. Not to say that they couldn't also have enemies...

3. Traders may have played an important part in assisting enemies to open peaceful negotiations with each other and to obtain resources in a non-aggressive way.

4. Although there exist many "official" alliances, there always exists an "unofficial" buddy system that facilitates cooperation against evil in the universe. This necessitates tact and diplomacy.

Goodbody's Traders seeks to add members to the alliance who are interested in resolving problems with whatever means available in an honorable way.

As of today, Traders spans 64 galaxies and has conducted trading over long distances. Our furthest transport to date required nearly two days to complete. We are small, but growing.
