Talk:Espionage Tech
Counterespionage equation question
The espionage tech equation says "The number of defending ships in orbit around the planet. The higher the number, the more likely the counterespionage." Do Hermes and Helios class ships count in the "number of defending ships"?
Cannot Espionage or Attack
for some reason i have hermes, artemis, and atlasses but i still kant attack or espionage
- Are you in Diplomacy Mode? Check the options page at the bottom. You cannot attack or espionage while in Diplomacy Mode. Terhorst 18:19, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
What good is the espionage equation? An example from my direct experience. The defender has only a listed 3% chance of detecting the probes, but he destroys the probes 5 times out of 6? (An 84% kill ratio, costing me 20,000 crystal worth of probes). Your equation is screwed up, or is not running properly. - Scott Dec 25th 2009
It says:
[...] If your opponent's Espionage Tech level is greater than yours:
Espionage Number = number of probes in the scanning fleet - (opponents' Espionage Tech level - your Espionage Tech level)2 [...]
that means if you use the values of the example below: 2 - (2-4)² = -2
The example says:
[...] Example: You have espionage level 4. The opponent you are scanning has espionage level 2, and you include 2 probes in the scanning fleet. Therefore we use the formula: 2 + (4-2)2 = 6 You will see the enemy's resources, fleet, defense, and buildings, but not their technologies [...]
something is wrong IMHO!
