A Solar System is where planets are created and colonized in Starfleet Commander. There are 500 individual Solar Systems in each Galaxy, and up to 15 planets can be created in each Solar System.
When a homeworld is created, it will always have 163 Planetary Fields.
When a planet is created from a colony ship; however, it will have a random amount of Planetary Fields based upon which spot in the Solar System that it was created in:
