What is Jagdgeschwader 1?
Jagdgeschwader 1 (JG 1) of World War I, was a fighter unit of the German Luftstreitkräfte, comprising four Jastas (fighter squadrons). It was formed on 24 June 1917, with Manfred von Richthofen as commanding officer, by combining Jastas 4, 6, 10 and 11. JG 1 became known as "The Flying Circus" or "Richthofen's Circus" because of the bright colours of its aircraft, and perhaps also because of the way the unit was transferred from one area of allied air activity to another - moving like a travelling circus in trains, and frequently setting up in tents on improvised airfields
OUR SQUADRON MISSION STATEMENT:
This is Jagdgeschwader 1 Otherwise known as Richtofen's Circus Our primary focus is the destruction of our enemies. Plain and simple.
Dicta Boelke
- Try to secure the upper hand before attacking. If possible, keep the sun behind you
- Always continue with an attack you have begun
- Open fire only at close range, and then only when the opponent is squarely in your sights
- You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses
- In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind
- If your opponent dives on you, do not try to get around his attack, but fly to meet it
- When over the enemy's lines, always remember your own line of retreat
- Tip for Squadrons: In principle, it is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent
- When you are not online and actively playing, and you are not in protected mode... FLEET SAVE!
Who are Jagdgeschwader 1 in SFC NOVA?
A group of like minded players in SFC NOVA who share a common affinity for WW1 Aviation specifically the Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte or Die Fliegertruppe. We are an aggressive Alliance who is not afraid to take on an opponent but are not so arrogant as to take on more than what we can handle. We are a group of players who will band together when attacking in order to bring down a much stronger opponent. Likewise we are a group of players who will band together in mutual defense of each other in order to defeat an attacking opponent.
Who are we looking for?
Greetings; I am the Commander of Jagdgeschwader 1, commonly known as "Richtofen's Flying Circus".
I have simple rules here. Follow the rules of Dicta Boelcke and you shall survive. Follow them not, then you shall not survive.
We fly as a team here. When we attack, we attack as a formation. If you are in a situation where you are alone and come under attack, and the forces are over whelming, you run. If the forces are such that you can take them on alone. So be it, but keep in mind, you are responsible for the outcome. Do not ask for resources to rebuild after your failure.
I am not a harsh commander, in fact, I am somewhat lienient in many matters. The only thing that I expect from those in my Squadron is this. Follow your orders, do not argue, and for God's sake watch your back and the back of your fellow squadron mates.
I expect every commander in my squadron to have high kill ratio's. If you do not. Then I will fire you. LOL
I am attempting to create Squadrons of individuals who are not afraid to be aggressive in order to grow and advance in the game, but also who are willing to work together as a team. I am always looking for talented leaders. I believe that one of the traits of a great leader is the ability to find those who have the talents that he/she lacks, to succeed in getting the job done. I'm not looking for "Lap-Dogs". I'm looking for players who are new to the SFC Universe and players with experience in the SFC universe. I'm always looking for talent, as well as for skills. Looking for experienced and aggressive players who are willing to work as part of a team and who are not afraid to do battle, however, we are willing to take on new players and teach them how to survive and advance in the game. If you are looking for a challenge, and a young alliance to grow in... Perhaps you may have found your new home!?
Welcome! Baron Manfred Von Richthofen - General Rittmeister - Jagdgeschwader 1 'Flying Circus' "Der Rote Baron" Good day and good hunting
Applying for admittance
There are a couple ways of gaining admittance to this Alliance. One is by direct invitation by either the Alliance Commander or the assigned Recruiter. Another way of gaining admittance to this Alliance is to submit your request by contacting an Alliance member who will forward your request to the Recruitment officer. And the last method of gaining admittance is by submitting an in game request. All potential recruits to the Alliance will go through a "Probationary" period and will be considered a "Prospect". Once a new recruit has proven themselves to be a benefit to the Alliance and proves that they have a full grasp of how to play this game then they will be allowed to become full members of the alliance.

Alliance Rules
Our rules are really very simple
- All Alliance members WILL comply with the rules governing Starfleet Commander Nova and Bluefrog Gaming. No exceptions. There will be no pushing of any kind, no multi-accounting, or any other methods which violate the SFC rules.
- Have fun!
- Help each other whenever help is asked. Remember, the next time it just might be you that needs that help.
- If you go (i) expect to be attacked. If you are going to be away on an extended period of time, let your commander know an then ask a fellow alliance member to log in to your account to fleet save for you until you return.
- If you go (I) you will be booted from the Alliance.
- Be courteous to your fellow alliance mates.
- All conflicts between Alliance members (there should not be any) will be handled by the unit commanders or the Rittmeister.
- Do not attack anyone that we are in a NAP with. (see the Relations area) If you see a player that has gone "Inactive" that is a member of an alliance with whom we have a NAP with, then be sure to post in the message board the name, location and alliance of the person whom you will be attacking. Send a PM to your immediate superior with this information as well. (if you are a Squadron Senior offizer then PM the Squadron Commander or Squadron Executive Offizer.)
