A player can have up to 9 planets by establishing colonies.

Players can rename their own planets by going to the Galaxy View for their system and clicking on the rename link.  Duplicate names for planets are allowed.

Planetary Fields
When a planet is created from a Gaia Class colony ship it will have a random number of Planetary Fields, based on it's position in the Solar System in which it was created.

;Note: Planets 4, 5, and 6 tend to yield higher number of fields; while planets 1, 2, and 3 tend to yield the fewest number in any given solar system.

When a homeworld is created, it will always have 163 fields.
