'''Vacation mode''' is an option found on the Options page from the link in the footer. It has the effect of immediately freezing the account. When turned on, a player will not be able to be attacked or probed until it is turned off, however incoming attacks sent before vacation mode was enabled will still land. Vacation mode only prevents future attacks from being sent. Vacation mode is indicated by a (v) after the player's name on the Galaxy screen. In vacation mode, a player's mines will not produce resources. It requires the player to have no fleets or buildings in progress to be toggled on. Vacation mode must last at least 48 hours before being turned off. Once in vacation mode, the player may log out from the game and not return for up to 35 days without losing ships, defenses, resources, etc. However, after being in vacation mode for 35 days without a login, the account will be marked inactive and will again be attackable. After an additional 14 days the account can become subject to deletion. Vacation mode limits almost all interaction with the game and other players through the game. In particular, messages and alliance forums cannot be read (although the indication that messages are available to read does display).
