The Nuclear Power Plant is an alternative to the Solar Array for producing Energy. It consumes Hydrogen from your Hydrogen Synthesizer in order to make extra power.

Nuclear Power Plants create more energy as you level up your Energy Tech.

Ore Cost = (500 * 1.8^Level)

Crystal Cost = (200 * 1.8^Level)

Hydrogen Cost = (100 * 1.8^Level)

Production

The formula for energy production is:

Energy = 30 x Level x (1.05 + Energy Tech Level x 0.01)^Level

Example: 30 * 10 * (1.05 + 14 * 0.01) ^10 = 389.06

Hydrogen Consumption

Hydrogen = 10 x Level x 1.1Level is the actual formula used. For Extreme, double the hydrogen use.

Efficiency

The efficiency of Nuclear Power Plants decreases with each level of the plant until Energy Tech Level 5. After Energy Tech Level 5, efficiency improves with each level of the plant.

Notes

  • The game's description of the Nuclear Power Plant is: "Produces additional electricity to power your mines and buildings, at a cost of hydrogen. The Nuclear Power Plant consumes more hydrogen and produces more energy for each level of energy tech." It should be noted that despite what this may say, hydrogen consumption is not increased along with energy production with the increase of energy tech, and is only dependent on the level of the plant.
  • As a Nuclear power plant uses hydrogen to generate energy, it would be recommended to check that you are not operating it at 100% output and producing surplus energy that is not being utilized. i.e., If you have a large amount of extra energy, consider decreasing energy production from your Power plant to save hydrogen. This costs nothing, as the extra energy is "extra," and so not producing it has no negative impact.
  • In Extreme, the Nuclear Power Plant uses double (i.e., x2) the amount of Hydrogen per level while still producing the same amount of power. So the production shown in the table is correct, but the output ratio is not applicable to Extreme.
