Evaluation
ADVANTAGES
The Hercules Class has five times the cargo capacity of the Atlas Class for only three times the cost. It also has higher Hull Rating and Shield Rating, making it useful when encountering enemy defenses.
DISADVANTAGES
Once Pulse Drive level 5 is reached, the Hercules Class is slower than the Atlas Class.
NOTE
The Hercules can be used as a fuel tank in colonization along with a Gaia Class Colony ship. It can extend the range of the Gaia Class significantly, only limited by the availability of Hydrogen of the planet launched from. Though the Hercules is carrying the hydrogen as fuel, that hydrogen is expended after launch, and can NOT be recovered, nor reimbursed if the Colony expedition is recalled.
